Meet Our Doctors

Dr. Christopher Puzio

Medical Director and Veterinarian

Dr. Puzio grew up in suburban Bergen County New Jersey and as a young boy he knew that he would work with and help animals. Christopher graduated with a B.S. in Animal Science from Cook College-Rutgers University and as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine with a Masters in Veterinary Pathology from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He has worked hard to bring state of the art veterinary medicine and impeccable client service to the residents of Rockland County.

He lives at home with his son Noah and four rescue animals: An Italian Greyhound named Pickles, an Australian Shepherd, Daphne, a Pommeranian, Captain Jack Sparrow, and lastly a Terrier Mix named Buster. In addition to his companion animals Dr. Puzio also has a small family of birds, a Kenyan Sand Boa, and a Gargoyle Gecko.

Dr. Bridget Lambrich

Co-Medical Director and Veterinarian

Dr. Lambrich grew up in St. Louis Missouri and graduated from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 1996. Working at Rockland Veterinary since 2004, she enjoys sharing her love of animals with the clients and staff.

Dr. Lambrich has four pets total, two dogs and two cats plus a pond full of beautiful Koi fish. Outside of work she enjoys reading and cooking.

Dr. Kenneth Byman

Chief of Staff, North Rockland

Dr. Byman graduated from University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1984 with a BS in Animal Science before completing his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree at Cornell University in 1989.

Dr. Byman was employed with Valley Cottage Animal Hospital for 6 years before founding the North Rockland Animal Hospital in 1995 where he is the Medical Director.   He has been serving Rockland County’s veterinary needs for 30 years. Dr. Byman resides in Garnerville with his wife, Teresa, also a veterinarian and is the proud father of three.

The Bymans share their home with a North Shore Rescue shepherd mix, Ginger; Mister Whiskers, a diabetic cat; and another precocious feline named Doctor Rex. When not working, you’ll find Dr. Byman at the gym, in front of a great book, enjoying music, or riding his Harley Davidson.

Dr. Byman is experienced with using ultrasound and echocardiography to diagnose and treat internal medical cases and cardiac patients.  He regularly seeks education in these and other areas to ensure that his patients are receive the best care and treatment outcomes.

Dr. Derek Gadino

Chief of Staff, Hudson Valley

A Bergen County native, Dr. Gadino received his B.S. degree from Cornell University in 1997 and his D.V.M. degree from Ross University in 2002. The first five plus years of his career were spent practicing in Nassau County. He joined the Rockland Veterinary staff in April 2008.

His special interests within veterinary medicine include endocrinology and diagnostic ultrasonography. Outside work Dr. Gadino enjoys playing the guitar, golf, and spending time with his family.

Dr. David Freedman

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Freedman graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science Degree and later graduated from Purdue University as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. After thirty years as a private practice owner, Dr. Freedman merged the Ramapo Animal Clinic with the Rockland Veterinary Group.

New City is home for Dr. Freedman and his wife Karen. When not in the office, Berkshire County Massachusetts is a frequent “get away” where he and his wife both enjoy the great outdoors and cultural activities.

Dr. Renee Bosma

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Renee Bosma is a native of the North Rockland area. She attended St. Gregory Barbarigo School, then North Rockland High School and in 2001, received a Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of Connecticut.  In 2006, she graduated from the Cornell College of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Bosma lives in Clarkstown with her husband, son and daughter. They have two Boxer-mixes, Briscoe and Madden, who are responsible for Dr. Bosma’s interest in behavioral medicine. In her spare time, Dr. Bosma enjoys reading, cooking, traveling and snorkeling.

Dr. Peter Segall

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Segall graduated as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University in 1969, and then began his career as a veterinarian on Park Ave. in New York City.  After two years of successful practice in New York, he bought an animal hospital in Nyack where he worked until 2005 before moving to Valley Cottage and purchasing the Hudson Valley Veterinary Hospital.  In 2007, he sold Hudson Valley to Dr. Christopher Puzio, D.V.M., the current owner of the other two Rockland veterinary practice locations, Pomona and North Rockland.

Outside work, Dr. Segall enjoys playing blue grass on his mandolin, skiing, hiking, gardening, and kayaking. Dr. Segall and his wife Laura have two children, Jocelyn and Rachel, along with a Black Lab, Ropa.
