Steps to Take When Seeking Urgent or Emergency Veterinary Care
If you are experiencing an urgent or emergency situation, follow the steps below.
- Call Ahead - For non-life-threatening issues, please give us a call to schedule an appointment. In a life-threatening emergency, call one of the emergency animal hospitals listed above to let them know you are on the way.
- Follow Instructions Provided - When you call to let the emergency animal hospital know you are coming, they might give you instructions to help you give your pet first aid or to make them as comfortable as possible. Carefully follow these instructions.
- Remain Calm - Be calm and extra careful near your pet. When animals experience pain, they often react negatively towards anyone trying to help and could bite or scratch.
- Bring Your Pet In For Care - Don't put yourself at risk! Safely take your cat or dog to our Rockland County veterinary clinic or the after-hours emergency vet locations above.
