Veterinary Surgery
At our animal clinic, we perform various surgical procedures for cats and dogs utilizing stringent surgical protocols. Our veterinary surgery is available at 3 locations: Hudson Valley, North Rockland, and Pomona.
In every surgery we perform, a qualified nurse will apply anesthesia and constantly monitor your pet utilizing electronic patient monitoring equipment. They will also make your pet more comfortable by providing them with pain management.
Once the surgery is over our team makes pain management and post-operative monitoring their top priorities. Your vet will also give you very detailed instructions for taking care of your pet at home.

- Soft Tissue Surgery
We offer soft tissue surgical procedures for cats and dogs that are experiencing a throat, ear, or nose disorder.
We can also conduct these procedures for pets with hepatic, urogenital, oncological, cardiothoracic, gastrointestinal, and skin disorders.
- Spaying & Neutering
When our vets spay or neuter dogs or cats they surgically sterilize them in order to help prevent disease and give them an extended life expectancy.
- Dental Surgery
We offer dental surgeries for cats and dogs. These procedures can include tooth extractions, gum disease treatment, jaw fracture repairs, and more.
- Tibial Tuberosity Advancement (TTA)
Our veterinary surgeons in Rockland County conduct these surgical procedures to help mend CCL (cranial cruciate ligament) ruptures in a dog's knee. The operation consists of cutting the top of the dog's shinbone and bringing it forward, your vet will then stabilize it in it's corrected position.
- Laser Surgery
Lasers allow for precise cutting with minimal bleeding and a faster recovery time. They can be employed in a large array of cases. Our Rockland County vets have experienced laser surgeons and will let you know if your pet’s condition is best treated with laser surgery.
The Surgery Process
Every member of our team realizes that taking your kitty or pup in for surgery can be intimidating. We want you to know that we only recommend surgery as a treatment option when it's in your pet's best interest.
We will make sure that you completely know why we are recommending surgery, and that you are comfortable deciding to move forward.
If your pet requires advanced care, our vets will refer you to a cat and dog surgeon or a veterinary surgical specialist near Rockland County, and work closely with them to make sure they get quality care.
Surgical protocols at our clinic include:
Pre-surgical assessments. We'll confirm the specifics of the surgery, perform a physical checkup of the patient, and ensure blood tests have been done and reviewed by the vet to determine if your pet faces any risk of anesthesia-related complications.
Dedicated surgical suites. We conduct surgery in a dedicated surgical suite. This area is kept fully sterile to prevent cross-contamination and infection.
Surgical attire. The entire time we are in the surgical suite we wear disposable caps and masks. All involved in the surgery itself will also wear sterile gowns and single-use gloves.
Sterile packs and equipment. We carefully clean, sterilize and wrap our surgical instruments and equipment before every operation.
